A relationship with God is like a song–a pure, sweet, simple song. It’s always playing, always around us. You can turn away, but the song is still surrounding you. Often times, it gets into your head and you can’t forget it. The song is always there.
Some people are too technical as they listen to the song. They try too hard to hear the little things that others usually don’t hear. But in the process, they miss the song itself–they don’t hear the simple notes that are being played.
Others simply aren’t in tune with the song. Maybe they think that they are, or maybe they know that they aren’t but they do nothing to correct themselves. They say, “It’s too difficult to get in tune” or “I don’t have time to correct it”.
And of course you’ll mess up on a note every so often. It’s only natural that your finger should miss a key or a note. But you just keep on playing, keep on listening.
The truth is, you just need to keep in tune with the song. Don’t get to too technical, and don’t try and ignore it. Keep playing, keep listening…stay in tune, and don’t give up, even with you miss that note. God will put your fingers back in the right place.
Are you in tune with the song?
